uSwitch website
Use the uSwitch website to compare the prices and green credentials of gas and electricity suppliers and of many other things, such as energy monitors and energy-saving devices. It also has a useful guide to understanding your annual energy statement. Once you’ve compared, you can use the website to switch supplier.
Green Electricity website
The Green Electricity Marketplace helps you find suppliers of green electricity where you live – and compare the prices of their tariffs. Type in your postcode and it shows a list of suppliers, their tariffs and and assessment of how “green” they really are. It was set up by people who used to work at Friends of the Earth.
Energy Saving Trust website
The Energy Saving Trust website is packed with information and ideas on cutting energy consumption. It has sections on:
- insulation and heating,
- recommended products,
- finding grants,
- generating your own energy.
Online tools include as a home energy checklist and carbon footprint calculator.
